Getting started

Instap is a platform that connects students, recruitment agents, and universities across Malaysia. You can discover programmes, apply online, and track everything in one place.

Creating an account and exploring programmes is free. Some programmes may have an application fee set by the university — this is always shown clearly before you apply.

Yes, Instap focuses on universities and colleges across Malaysia — from Kuala Lumpur and Selangor to Penang, Johor, and beyond.

For students

Use the search and filters on the Programmes page to narrow by level, field of study, fees, and keyword. Every listing is published and kept up to date by the university through Instap.

Create a free student account, complete your profile once, and submit applications to one or more universities. You can track each application's status from your dashboard.

Yes. Build your profile once and submit applications to multiple universities and programmes — no need to re-enter your details each time.

Most programmes require proof of English proficiency (such as IELTS, TOEFL, or MUET). Specific requirements are listed on each programme page; some universities offer English pathway options.

For agents

Go to Sign up and choose the Agent tab, complete your company details, and submit. Our team verifies your agency before activating your portal.

Most agencies are reviewed within a few business days. You'll be notified by email once your account is approved.

Yes. The agent portal lets you manage unlimited student profiles and submit applications to multiple universities from a single dashboard.

For universities

Universities are onboarded by our team. Use the Contact page or the “Become a partner” button, and we'll set up your verified profile and staff portal access.

You do. Your admissions team manages your profile, programmes, intakes, fees, and scholarships. Only what you publish appears on the public site.

Visa & arrival

Once you accept an offer, your university applies for your Student Pass through EMGS (Education Malaysia Global Services). You'll receive a Visa Approval Letter, then complete the process on arrival in Malaysia.

International students may work part-time (up to 20 hours/week) during semester breaks and holidays in eligible sectors, subject to current regulations.
